Terms and Conditions
PDXinspections LLC, herein referred to as PDXinspections. PDXinspections will only use ASE Certified automotive professionals/inspectors who are professional technicians trained and experienced with the evaluation and reporting of overall condition of used vehicles. The PDXinspections inspection process/report is a completely subjective (reporting only true facts) based on our professional experience of inspecting thousands of used cars using the same process.
You must notify the seller/owner in advance of your intent to have PDXinspections perform an inspection and have the seller agree to the inspection. We will arrange the inspection and confirm the vehicles availability prior to attempting to access the vehicle. If the inspector arrives at the vehicle location and is not permitted to perform any part of the inspection or the entire inspection then you will be liable for 50% of cost of the inspection. The original fee for the inspection will apply if you wish for us to attempt to later return to the vehicle.
PDXinspections inspectors do not disassemble any vehicle components not easily accessed/assessed as part of our vehicle inspection procedure. Our report will include all of the tests and procedures outlined on our website unless otherwise stated. To our best ability we will inspect/report: vehicle wear and tear, evidence of previous body work/previous accident repairs, test factory vehicle accessories/electronics, safety systems and seat belts (only if not occupied by a child seat or similar), ECM/PCM/Module/Computer scans, and a mechanical evaluation of everything we can within reason not requiring disassembly to do so. Certain electrical or other functions may only be checked for the ability to “power on” such as CD Players, Tape Players, DVD Players, Rear seat entertainment systems and Navigation equipment. Unless the seller does not present a CD/tape/DVD or other media for the inspector to test for proper operation they are not fully inspected and it will ultimately be up to you (the buyer) to verify their proper operation. We will make a reasonable effort to complete a test drive. There may be circumstances such as sellers refusal, weather, mechanical issues or dangerous/poor driving roads that may prevent a test drive, the inspection report will still be completed to it’s fullest extend minus the test drive portion in these rare situations.
The PDXinspections inspection report reflects the overall condition of the vehicle at the time of the inspection. PDXinspections is not liable for any such changes that occur after the inspection is completed. It is impossible for our inspection or any inspection for that matter to see potential failures that are internal to the engine, transmission, driveline, electrical system or other components and there is the possibility of impending failures due to possible intermittent conditions that are not evident at the time of the inspection or otherwise not presented or noticed during our limited time with the vehicle during the inspection process. PDXinspections does not provide written or implied warranties regarding its service.
PDXinspections does not provide advice or express our opinion as to whether you should ultimately purchase or decline to purchase any vehicle we inspect unless we feel the vehicle is unsafe or has a major imminent problem/issue. We do report how the vehicle rates base on comparable past inspections comparing to like models/mileages. Our professional opinion may differ from yours, the sellers or any other person who were to inspect the same vehicle. We in good faith believe we have the most extensive inspection process in the business, running more tests which overlap to reduce errors or missing potential issues but you are always encouraged to get a second or even third inspection to ours. Any guarantee as to the vehicle’s condition will remain between the seller and the you the buyer.
You agree that PDXinspections will not be held liable for any missed damages or failures or omissions from the report as to the condition of the vehicle. Certain weather and lighting conditions will certainly affect the accuracy in many cases and may affect our inspectors ability to perform an accurate inspection. Weather conditions, indoor/outdoor lighting and/or the cleanliness of the vehicle may hinder the inspectors ability to detect all imperfections with the vehicle such as interior defects, damages, wear and tear to the vehicle or previous body or paint work that may have been performed. You must understand the cleaner and more lit the vehicle is, the more accurate and thorough our inspection will be. Ideally, vehicles should be free or dirt, mud, debris, snow, ice, and any other material by the seller prior to the inspection in order for our inspector to provide the most accurate inspection possible as to report the condition of the body, paint and interior as well as any other areas of the vehicle that may hide damage that may go undetected by the inspector. Engine cold starts are always preferred but not always possible. It is up to you to request the seller leave the vehicle parked and un-started prior to our arrival. We will inspect the vehicle regardless of startup temperature. Cold weather or high heat/humidity conditions may also prevent us to determine the performance of the HVAC/Air Conditioning System(s).
By ordering an inspection from PDXinspections, you agree not to hold PDXinspections or our inspectors liable for any mechanical, electrical, or any meticulously hidden or undetected damage by the seller or any other failures that occur after the vehicle is purchased. You also agree that you waive any rights to hold PDXinspections or our inspectors liable for any damages (personal or physical) sustained from any inspection we perform on your behalf. You also must understand that the inspection is merely an informational tool for you to help determine the vehicle condition so that you may have more information in order to help you make a educated purchasing decision. Our report doesn’t guarantee that the vehicle will not breakdown in the future or have hidden damage (past or present) that went undetected during the inspection or omitted from the report. If a vehicle had previous repairs performed, the inspector’s opinion will be limited to the part of the repairs that are visible only. You should assume that underlying damages may be present but not able to be seen by the inspector since the vehicle will be fully assembled. In situations where you know a vehicle has been involved in an accident i.e. Salvage or Reconstructed, or any accident for that matter either before or after our inspection you should consider the vehicle as weakened structurally as no matter what the quality of the repair it will never be as strong as it was when it was manufactured – in regards to safety we do not recommend purchasing these vehicles. Airbags modules are scanned when possible and safety/restraint systems are only visually inspected without disability so there are no guarantees these components were effected, properly repaired, modified or will function as designed in a future accident. We ONLY provide you (the potential buyer) a written second/professional opinion of the vehicle on the day of inspection. In no event will the liability of PDXinspections and its employees exceed the amount of the fees paid by you to for our inspection.
By ordering an inspection from PDXinspections you agree to everything this disclaimer and the terms and conditions listed in the above Terms and Conditions.
